Moomin Arabia’s 2024 winter seasonal collection, Ski Jumping, features Moomintroll’s daring jump. The release includes a mug and bowl with handy extras, bedlinen and towels in wintry tones. The limited-edition items will be available from 4 October 2024.
Ski, after-ski, or no ski at all, on chilly winter days, nothing beats a mug or bowl of something hot to sip! From cocoa with a swirl of cream to hot soup sprinkled with toasted nuts, Moomin Arabia’s new winter dishes make your snack breaks and dining moments taste amazing. A handy tray, paper napkins, and kitchen towel match the dishes.
Moomintroll’s impressive ski jump
The new seasonal collection continues the familiar winter sports theme from the two previous years, now featuring Moomintroll’s ski jump. The illustration is inspired by Tove Jansson’s 1955 comic story Moomin’s Winter Follies, in which the Moominvalley residents open epic Winter Games.
In an attempt to impress Snorkmaiden, Moomintroll participates in a ski jumping competition. After realising how dangerous it is, Snorkmaiden tries to stop Moomintroll, but it’s already too late. In the illustration, Moomintroll is already in the air. Snorkmaiden, Mymble, and little Shadow nervously watch him fly. A group of Moominvalley residents rush to see the daring jump. Even though the jump ends up landing on the spruce tops, it’s an impressive sight!
Illustrator Parvati Pillai from Moomin Arabia’s in-house team has brought the story to life by creating a fast-paced scene with a sense of excitement in the air. The illustration has the same overall look as the previous two seasonal collections, but there are slightly more of bright accent colours than pastels in the details.
The winter seasonals complimented with soft bathroom and bedroom items
Moomin Arabia’s winter collection has previously featured only kitchen items, but this year, bathroom and bedroom textiles also get an adventurous winter theme.
The range includes hand and bath towels as well as bedlinen in blue tones and repeats the playful, wintry elements of the ceramic illustration. The textiles are made of 100 % organic cotton.
