Mug #89 – Moomin’s Day

The original artwork can be found in Tove Jansson’s book Moominland Midwinter (1957) and in a brochure Tove Jansson illustrated for the Evening News newspaper in 1955.
The Moomin mug number #89 (or #87 if you count only the Arabia’s Teema-series Moomin mugs) was only sold for one day, Tove Jansson’s birthday, on August 9th, 2018.
The Moomin’s Day Moomin mug was produced only as a limited set and the extremely high popularity surprised both the manufacturer Arabia and the Moomin Shops and moomin.com as resellers. We wished for a mug for each and every one of you but we could never have believed such popularity for a Moomin mug when placing the preorders for production last year. There were tens of thousands of you trying to order the mug at the same time and we only had mugs for the minority of you.
