Moominvalley Park in Japan has brought joy to Moomin fans for three years already! The anniversary celebrations are kicked off with a spring theme and some lovely renewals and additions made into the park.
Moominvalley Park celebrates its 3rd anniversary in March 2022.
To mark the occasion, the park will be holding the “3rd Anniversary Special Week” from Wednesday 16 March to Monday 21 March. Throughout the event period, the park has prepared various ways for guests to enjoy their time at Moominvalley Park to spend a pleasant and extraordinary time with the Moomins. The entire program is available on Moominvalley Park’s website.
Floating Flower Walk marks the springtime’s arrival
To celebrate the start of springtime, visitors may enjoy a walk around more than 15 floating flower spots in the park, decorated to reflect the different Moomin characters with different choices of colourful flowers such as roses, dahlias and gerberas.
The flowers used are in season at the time, so the variety of flowers changes regularly.
There will even be a secret flower spot somewhere in the park!
Hana-cho-zu is the practice of decorating hand basins and waterpots with colourful flowers.
Also, during the anniversary celebrations, Moominvalley Park encourages guests to arrive in their flowered headdresses.
Guests are invited to enjoy a spring picnic with loved ones in the Moominvalley area, where you can feel the world of the story, or in the Lonely Mountain area, which is rich in nature.
Moominvalley Park enjoys a Moominous renewal
During the winter Moominvalley Park was also renewed with several wonderful additions and changes that make the day at the park even more magical!
The Pancake Restaurant was transformed into Lettula Lounge where you can relax in the spacious restaurant or enjoy delicious freshly baked cinnamon rolls and the view of Lake Miyazawa and the hammocks on the terrace.
A new wonderful space for children has been added to the Kokemus exhibition house. At the “Workshop” room children can learn and play together: you will find wooden toys, soft blocks and picture books for young children to stimulate their intellectual curiosity. There will also be workshops and events, such as storytelling events.
The “Workshop” on the second floor of the “Kokemus” exhibition facility is a “Kids’ Space” where children can learn and play together.
In the room there are wooden toys, soft blocks and picture books for young children to stimulate their intellectual curiosity. Also workshops and events, such as storytelling events will be arranged.
