UX/UI Designer – Digital Storyteller at Moomin Characters

The first tech team in the history of Moomin Characters awaits you. After finding a Lead Engineer and a Creative Technologist, we are now looking for a UX/UI designer to complete the team. If you are a UX/UI designer who prefers to work in a kind and relaxed environment, is passionate about user research and designing beautiful digital experiences, and loves the Moomin stories and Tove Jansson’s artwork, we would love to hear from you.

 

You will be able to: 

  • Co-imagine, research, validate, and co-create digital experiences that will delight Moomin fans worldwide.
  • Join the tech team (our newly appointed Lead Engineer and Creative Technologist) and collaborate with the Creative Director to design, refine, and implement a new vision for how fans could experience the Moomin stories online.
  • Build a design system, help set up ways of working and technical setups with the rest of the team, and own the organizational design (this is a greenfield project).
  • Contribute to relevant discussions with our Creative Director and Design team on the Moomin brand’s digital development.

We are looking for:

  • Desire to work as a team on-site and the ability to communicate with non-technical people, humanists, and business experts.
  • Ability to understand users’ needs, experience in translating high-level concepts into workable prototypes and emotion-evoking consumer experiences, and a systematic approach to design. 
  • Interest in working with an art-based brand and solid knowledge of the Moomin stories and values. 
  • At least a few years of hands-on professional experience with UX/UI design, prototyping, and interaction design. 
  • Fluent English.
  • Graphic design skills are a bonus, but not a requirement.
